As Adobe nears the broader launch of its Firefly artificial intelligence offering, questions are swirling about how the company is going to compensate people who contribute content to train its image-generation technology.
One of the things Adobe is wrestling with is what happens if creators upload AI-generated images to the dataset that’s used to train Firefly. Adobe has previously said Firefly is more “responsible” than other AI applications because it is trained only on Adobe Stock images, “openly licensed content,” and public domain content where copyright has expired.
