Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh killed in Israeli airstrike in Iran, Hamas says

One of Hamas’ most senior leaders, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Iran, the group said early Wednesday.

According to Hamas’ statement, Haniyeh was killed during a raid on his residence in Tehran after participating in the inauguration ceremony of new Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian. Iranian state media also reported his death, without giving any further details.
