For 72 minutes of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham, Manchester United were in trouble. The visitors to Old Trafford were 1-0 up and in control until a double red card for Aleksandar Mitrovic and Willian completely changed the dynamic of the contest. With a two-man advantage, United ultimately ran out 3-1 winners.
Nonetheless, Erik Ten Hag must heed the warnings provided by the majority of his team’s performance. Despite their talent advantage and the advantage of being the home side, Manchester United were second best and the Dutch manager must ensure there is no knock-on effect after the international break.
