One of the world’s newest — and most ambitious — airlines made its international debut on June 19, when a jet in the purple livery of Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air flew in to take part in the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport on the outskirts of the French capital.
The new airline is backed by the oil wealth of the Saudi government and has plans to carry more than 100 million passengers to and from a network of more than 100 destinations by the end of the decade.
