Significant investments in early-stage XR and Metaverse companies continue in spite of the cautious economic environment, which is causing Meta, Microsoft, Google and others to shed high-cost, low or no revenue projects like AltSpaceVR (and maybe even the HoloLens) amidst slowing profits in cyclical areas like advertising.
Gemba, a corporate VR training platform used by Coca-Cola and Pfizer, raises $18M The funding round was led by Parkway Venture Capital and will enable the company to expand into the US market. Gemba’s VR platform is used by companies including Coca-Cola and Nike to train distributed workforces. Its learning programs include simulated factory walks and live training that avoids the need for staff to travel in for training sessions.
