Wall Street stocks fell on Tuesday, after strong new housing data pointed to resilience in the US economy and raised the prospect that higher interest rates would be needed to cool inflation.
Wall Street’s benchmark S&P 500 dropped 0.6 per cent while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite shed 0.4 per cent, extending losses from the previous session.
